update...

No SASE.

But there's always today.

  1. On a different note, I've been tying my shoes successfully with alarming regularity.

  2. You wouldn't be tying your shoes without my help. Don't forget that.

  3. Oh! Of course. I credit you with my new found proficiency. I would be no where without your guidance. I once was lost, but now am found. At tying shoes, anyway.

  4. I am glad that you remember where you came from Mr. Breen. Never forget that. Your past is everything. Without your past you would not be who you are today and if you had forgotten your past then you would not remember that I was a spelling champion in 4th grade. Mrs. Anderson, yeah I just went there, read it and weep.

  5. Oh, sir, I remember it. Blast from the past, eh? That's pretty old school (I hope you enjoy the pun). Those were back in the dark days. Yes, the dark days. You see, that is what I'm calling the period of time from... I'm not sure, I guess my birth would be a good starting point, it is year zero for me, up until you showed me the way. The way of tying my shoes. Ah yes, I've got Great Expectations now. Wonderful things will come my way, Wayne, and I owe it all to you! You truly are my Mr. Miagi, Wayne Lagasse, and for that I thank you.

  6. Pat, there is only one thing I can say to that excellently written paragraph and that is, I lost the game.

  7. AARGH! I was going to put that on the end, I really was! Then I decided to just say it out loud instead, so that our visits to Mr. A's blog would not for ever be marred by and associated with the infernal and thoroughly unwinnable "Game." I'm saddened to see you couldn't grant us all that same courtesy. And from you Wayne! You of all people! This cuts deep Wayne. A deep, deep cut that won't heal. It will just bleed out, bleed not blood, mind you, but my trust and confidence in the world around me. It'll drain out slowly, until I'm just an empty husk of a human being. Vacant, and cynical.
Also, I just lost the game.

  8. Ok, I love the husk of a human line and yes, I too have lost the game

  9. Sigh. It seems that it would be a charade to deny it. I've lost the game. I want to go to the Russian wilderness and shout it from the highest mountain before my big fight with Ivan Drago. "GGGGGGAAAAAAAMMMMMEEEEEE!!"

Thank you for the critique, though. I felt like it was an effective expression of how totally defeated I'm becoming. Sigh again. Is it sad that I consider this some of the best writing I've done in a long time? Maybe if my college essay was of this caliber, I wouldn't be on so many waitlists. For a third time, sigh.
These comments, these are the product of over a week with nothing to wiki about. Anyone wanna buy a car stereo?
